Day 24

Today we woke up early at around 6 because we needed to assemble at 7 outside the school gate. We didn’t have breakfast as we were rushing for time today. After we boarded the bus, we’re in for a long bus ride! We stopped at a place for lunch and afterwhich, we continued our journey. We reached the main entrance of 武当山 at around 3pm.

When we reached the place, we took a bus whereby we drop off at any of the different stops we want. After the stops, we can then take another bus to the other stops. We split into a few groups because the group was too big. We went to the first attraction which is called 太子坡. After that, we took another bus to 紫霄宫.

After that,we left and headed back to 九龙山庄, the 3 star hotel where we will be staying in. We were told to leave our bags in our room and head back to the lobby to meet. Then, we were to climb a small hill near our hotel. It was quite tiring.

After we finished climbing, we went to太和酒店 for our dinner. After that we headed back to our rooms.

Reflection

There was this sign today,注意落石,which when translated to english means beware of falling rocks. I was wondering what this sign was at first by its picture, but couldn’t figure it out, then I looked down and realised that it was beware of falling rocks. If people didn’t understand chinese and couldn’t understand the picture, wouldn’t it put them in danger? I think that for the signs which wants to highlight danger, they should at least put an english translation because english is the universal language. This way, if foreigners don’t understand the picture and chinese translation, they might understand the english translations. Either that, or they can change the picture to something more obvious about the rocks falling.
